Andhra Pradesh state Government officials today (August 8, 2011) conducted raids on several production houses in tollywood for evading service tax (it can also be called entertainment tax) in the last year.
Production houses of tollywood biggies like Allu Aravind, Dil Raju, Bellamkonda Suresh and R R Movie Makers' Venkat were raided by the officials from Commercial/Services Taxes department and it is learnt they found that the production houses and distribution firms of these producers had not paid service tax on the movies they made or distributed in recent times!
